When you paint a trompe-L’oeil, you include the surrounding environment of the subject In the painting, the trompe-l’oeil chantourne eliminates this surrounding environment.

The missing environment is then replaced by your living room or wall or where ever the painting finds itself displayed.`

This style of painting intensifies the Trompe-l’oeil effect.
